Exteriors

Architecture and exterior design I like, a lot of it brutalist. Buildings that do not apologize for how they were made. Concrete, steel, and structure left visible. Nothing decorated, nothing covered. The material holding the building up is the material you are looking at, and poured concrete keeps the marks of the wood forms it was cast in. You can read how a building was made by standing in front of it. Most people find this work ugly, and the people who love it love it for exactly the reason everyone else does not. That is why I photograph it. The intent is impossible to miss. Somebody decided this, and then did not soften it. Same instinct as the interiors, pointed outward. I am collecting decisions.
